About Us

The Sakthi Amma Tribal Welfare Trust, established in 2009, is dedicated to uplifting underprivileged tribal communities in the Thiruvannamalai district. Led by the unwavering commitment of Sri Sakthi Amma, the trust has been instrumental in providing essential support and resources to empower these communities. This website aims to shed light on the trust's initiatives, impact, and long-term vision for creating sustainable change.

What We Do

Section 1: Bridging Educational Gaps

One of the primary focuses of the trust is to bridge educational gaps among tribal children. Through the Tribal Community Education and Assistance Programme, the trust provides educational materials, aids, and resources to facilitate learning. Additionally, free computer centers are established in rural areas, offering access to computer literacy programs, thereby equipping the children with essential digital skills. Over the years, the trust has taken significant steps to enhance education, including:

- Establishment of computer centers to provide computer literacy to school students.
- Distribution of computers to schools for computer education to students.
- Distribution of classroom tables and benches to improve the learning environment.
- Distribution of notebooks and stationary items such as pens, pencils, erasers, scales, etc., to fulfill the students' educational needs.

Section 2: Sri Sakthi Amma's Personal Involvement

Sri Sakthi Amma's personal involvement plays a vital role in the trust's efforts. Annually, Sri Sakthi Amma visits the tribal areas, where Amma shares knowledge, spreads love, and generously donates essential educational materials, clothing, and livelihood essentials. This personal touch brings hope and inspiration to the tribal communities, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment.

Section 3: The Vidyanethram Initiative

The Vidyanethram initiative, initiated by the trust, aims to provide formal education and computer literacy programs to tribal children who otherwise lack access to quality education. By liberating them from menial daily chores or odd jobs, this initiative offers these children an opportunity to break free from societal limitations and pursue their dreams.

Section 4: Addressing Basic Needs

The trust recognizes that addressing basic needs is crucial for the well-being of tribal communities. In addition to educational support, the trust also focuses on distributing clothing, including sarees and dhotis, as well as blankets to address the basic needs of the community. By ensuring access to these essentials, the trust aims to enhance the quality of life for tribal families.

Section 5: Empowering Livelihoods

To foster sustainable change, the trust aims to empower tribal communities to become self-sufficient. The trust provides training in harvesting spices, honey, and millets, offering guidance in marketing these products to support their livelihoods. They are also trained to create natural medicines and remedies using resources from the local flora.. By enabling the tribal communities to harness their skills and resources, the trust aims to create sustainable income opportunities.

Since its inception, the trust has been actively working towards the upliftment of tribal communities. Every year, the trust undertakes various initiatives to make a meaningful impact. Some of the notable accomplishments include:
